In relation to the discussion about about beer at sporting events...I must point out that, thanks to their account with Fosters, the MCG does sell Matilda Bay beers (Fat Yak, Beez Neez, Redback and Big Helga) in the MCC Members area, alongside full strength Carlton Draught and several other CUB premiums.
So, whilst it's only for the richy Members, and they are charging $8.60 a bottle for a Matilda Bay beer (330ml), better beer IS available at the MCG.
Since I just can't drinking Carlton Draught anymore (I find it far to chemically sharp and unpleasent on the palate), my go to beer whilst at the MCG for footy is now Big Helga.
Just wish I saw more people drinking the MB beers when I was there...but it seems that the cup of Carlton Draught for $6.40 is much more attractive for the masses.

Another great podcast, Radio Brews News!

In relation to the discussion about about beer at sporting events…I must point out that, thanks to their account with Fosters, the MCG does sell Matilda Bay beers (Fat Yak, Beez Neez, Redback and Big Helga) in the MCC Members area, alongside full strength Carlton Draught and several other CUB premiums.

So, whilst it’s only for the richy Members, and they are charging $8.60 a bottle for a Matilda Bay beer (330ml), better beer IS available at the MCG.

Since I just can’t drinking Carlton Draught anymore (I find it far to chemically sharp and unpleasent on the palate), my go to beer whilst at the MCG for footy is now Big Helga.

Just wish I saw more people drinking the MB beers when I was there…but it seems that the cup of Carlton Draught for $6.40 is much more attractive for the masses.
