Establish and lead a fresh new kitchen in microbrewery Bright Brewery.
Take charge of the menu, the team and the set-up, to move Bright Brewery’s food service from simple bar food to Gastro Pub dining. A dramatic extension to the Bright Brewery building includes a large kitchen and spectacular indoor and outdoor dining spaces.
Showcasing local ingredients you’ll be in charge of the team offering lunch and dinner every day. Your beer-matched menu will balance hearty value with exciting flavours. Special events and seasonal specials will be opportunities to push the boundaries. Use your management skills to deliver busy functions.
There are established opportunities to work collaboratively with other leading members of the vibrant regional food, wine and beer scene.
Responsibilities include:
- developing and costing menus,
- recipe development and training,
- staff recruitment, training, rostering and performance management
- managing the swing from high volumes during busy periods, down to quiet periods too
You’ll be a leading member of the Bright Brewery team working with:
- the venue manager to create exciting beer-matched menus
- the brewer on seasonal beers food matching
- the marketing and events manager to deliver creative events and functions
- the office manager to keep records and finances up to date and accurate.
The four strongly distinct seasons in Bright create menu opportunities using an exciting range of locally grown foods. And of course, the seasons and the mountain setting create lifestyle opportunities that aren’t imaginable in a city.

The new venue opens in December 2012. Several weeks planning, menu design, and finalising the kitchen team will be needed before opening.

Bright Brewery Venue Manager
Bright Brewery is an award-winning destination for craft beer nuts and the broader public. This role will take our customer relationships to a new level.
A dramatic extension to the Bright Brewery building includes a large kitchen and spectacular indoor and outdoor dining spaces with opportunities to view and interact with the brewing process.
Managing Bright Brewery’s hospitality operations, the Venue Manager will handle operations including:
- financial control of the kitchen and bar
- customer service standards
- recruitment, training and supervision of front of house staff
- spotless presentation of the bar, dining room and gardens
- creating and implementing and reviewing policies and procedures
- ensuring safety and legal compliance are spot on, with great records kept
- creating and implementing sales ideas
- running the regular schedule of events, tours, live music gigs
- engaging with customers long after they’ve gone home, using social media, beer club and more
- And when required, rolling up your sleeves and working as a front line member of the team.
You’ll be a leading member of the Bright Brewery team:
- working with the chef to create exciting beer-matched menus
- working with the brewer on seasonal beers and on technical training for bar and waiting staff
- working with the Marketing and Events manager to deliver creative events and functions, both on-site and off-site
