Bluetongue started in the Hunter Valley in 2003 with the idea to brew a premium Australian beer for the modern palate, in a location where it was needed the most: wine country. With the success of the first beer, the Bluetongue range expanded and in 2010, the brand new, state-of-the-art Bluetongue Brewery brewed its first case of Bluetongue. Since 2003, we’ve grown to become Australia’s 6th biggest brewery. As well as the Bluetongue brands, the brewery also produces three SABMiller Global brands, Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Grolsch and Miller Genuine Draft to the highest brewing standards.
A rare opportunity for a Brewer has become available in this small, close-knit team. It’s an exciting opportunity that will see the successful applicant creating some of Australia’s finest premium beers. As a passionate brewer, you will have the opportunity to learn from the best and to work for a great team who value teamwork, quality and have a passion for the final product.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to run daily operations, where your brewing passion is developed as you hand craft the fantastic range of premium beers. This role is hands-on, and will develop your knowledge of the entire beer making process. It offers an exciting opportunity to work with all areas in the brewing process and play a vital part in growing the Bluetongue and SABMiller brands.
The candidate will also be required to focus on systems/processes to ensure quality, safety and process optimisation issues are maintained. You will bring your problem solving skills to the table as you implement continuous improvement initiatives whilst ensuring equipment and technology meet requirements.
Ideally you will hold a Brewing qualification or a Tertiary Qualification in Microbiology or Food Science or a Trade qualification in Engineering will be looked upon favourably, but these are not essential to the role. Most of all you are passionate about beer, and possess exceptional communication skills and the willingness to learn from your peers as well as senior team leaders.
