Good Beer Week Gala Showcase & Program Launch 13 & 14 March

GBW ShowcaseGood Beer Week is back for its fifth year and is set to be one of winter’s premier festivals. To get people in the mood, the second pre-festival event is the Good Beer Week Gala Showcase, which takes place next weekend – March 13 and 14 – in the spectacular Fitzroy Town Hall.

The Showcase also signals the launch of the Good Beer Week 2015 Program. Tickets for all Good Beer Week events will be available from Friday March 13 to purchase through the festival website – goodbeerweek.com.au – and print programs will be available at Fitzroy Town Hall and all participating Melbourne venues from that day too.

Good Beer Week Program

This year’s Good Beer Week features 250 events at 180 venues across Victoria in a range of locations, from your local pub to Vue de Monde and everything in between. It includes unlikely venues such as Pentridge Prison and the Collingwood Children’s Farm, and events that include masterclasses, dinners, tours, comedy, collaborations and live music.

Foodies will be catered for with an abundance of events pairing good beer and fine food at some of Melbourne’s most sought-after dining destinations, including Tonka, Ichi Ni, Nieuw Amsterdam and Estelle. The festival’s favourite events including Mega Dega III and The World of Beer Masterclass are back and will be better then ever.

International guests this year include first time visitors from America: wild beer masters Jester King and New York-based Danish brewer Evil Twin. Returning for their third Good Beer Week is Japan’s Hitachino Nest as well as fellow Japanese craft brewers Baird Brewery and Coedo. Add to that three very special guests from the world’s most unique brewing nation, Belgium, others from Italy, New Zealand, the UK and more and it makes for the festival’s most colourful global lineup yet.
