Akasha Brewing, the new venture from Riverside Brewing co-founder Dave Padden, tapped its first beers at venues across Sydney on Tuesday.

Padden, Akasha co-founder Wesley White and sales manager Ben Galanos were at CBD venue The Spooning Goats to chat with drinkers about their debut release, Akasha Freshwater Pale Ale.

The Freshwater is an American-style pale ale, brewed using cornerstone American hop, Cascade. Next up will be the Hopsmith IPA, due for release in the coming weeks.

Padden told Australian Brews News that while he was keen to differentiate the beers from those he created at Riverside, there was never a chance that he would deviate from his American-influenced, hop forward brewing style.

“It would be like an Italian chef deciding to start cooking Asian fusion!” he said.
