Collaborations and gongs for Two Birds

Fresh from being named Champion Large Brewer at the Craft Beer Awards, Two Birds’ Sunset Ale has won Best Beer in the 2015 Wetherspoons Real Ale Festival, beating 49 other beers from the UK and around the world.

The Wetherspoon’s Real Ale Festival is the world’s biggest real ale festival, running for 17 days from 16th Oct to 1st Nov in the UK, with each beer being brewed locally, after being chosen as the best of the best from previous Wetherspoons Festivals.

For this year’s festival, Two Birds brewed its Sunset Ale at Everards Brewery in Leicester. The Red Ale features rich, round, toffee-like malt characters and a combination of Australian and American hops, which contribute a light grapefruit and citrus note.
