Fury & Son coming to Melbourne

December 4, 2015

Fury and Sons Branding Concepts - Final ConceptA father and son duo are setting up a new brewery and restaurant in Melbourne’s western suburbs.

Fury & Son Brewing Company has been founded by longtime beer enthusiasts, pharmacist Andrew Georgiou and father Reno, who started the Renma manufacturing business.

“We’ve purchased the 25-hectolitre BrauKon brewhouse from our friends at Grand Ridge as they’ve expanded to a much larger system,” Andrew Georgiou told Australian Brews News.

“We’ve paired this with a brand new cellar from DME, namely four 50-hectolitre unitanks and a 50-hectolitre bright tank.”

Fury & Son is close to appointing a brewer to run the operation at 46 Concorde Drive, Keilor Park. Georgiou believes his own pharmaceutical background holds him in good stead for the brewing game.

“Brewing makes sense to me as when it comes down to it, the artistry of creating a great beer will take you 90 per cent of the way but stone cold science and chemical reactions put the icing the cake,” he says.

Fury & Son plans to keg and bottle with a new bottling machine on order from Splatt Engineering.

If all goes to plan, the brewery will be operational by March, with the on-site restaurant offering burgers, tacos and other ‘beer food’.

Georgiou says Fury & Son expands craft beer’s reach into Melbourne’s “true western suburbs”.

“Two Birds is doing an absolutely phenomenal job of getting the west on board and with new brewers West City Brewing starting up also, this side of town will finally get they craft beer revolution they deserve,” he says.
