Hottest 100 response ‘staggering’ as poll closes tonight

Voting participation in the Hottest 100 craft beers poll is already on target to double last year’s effort, with the poll closing at midnight tonight (AEST Monday January 18).

hottest100_2015_voteSome very interesting trends have already emerged in voting so far, organiser Steve Jeffares has told Australian Brews News.

“We have absolutely smashed the previous record of voters. It’s been really quite amazing,” he said.

“Every year we have increased fairly significantly the voting numbers from previous years, but this year we are looking at doubling the previous record – the voting numbers are staggering.”

Based on voting so far, Jeffares hinted the poll will yield some unexpected results on January 26.

“There are certainly some surprises. Australians’ love of hops is not going anywhere. I can tell you there are some big hoppy beers in the Hottest 100,” he said.
