An environmental historian and Australia’s leading historian of beer and breweries, Brett is the author of a large number of articles on the history of beer and brewing in Australia, and in 2010 published the definitive history of Queensland’s early breweries, Beer, Mines and Rails (Tankard Books, 2010). His other books include The Gold Digger’s Arms: Pubs of the Upper Clarence River District, New South Wales (Tankard Books, 2009).
