James Davidson

James Davidson James is a typical 20th-century Melbournian, quietly indulging in a dense culture of coffee, bars, the arts, sport and technology. Like most Australians he spent most his twenties thinking that James Boags Premium Lager was the best Australian beer had to offer. Thankfully, he was challenged to try "something different" by a beer loving friend in 2008. That Pauwel Kwak Belgian strong ale started him on a journey of beer discovery from which he has not looked back. Fresh into his thirties and surrounded by a booming craft beer industry in Melbourne and across Australia, James spends his weekends exploring as many different beer varieties, brewers and bars as possible from across Australia and beyond, on an eternal hunt for the world’s most enjoyable and unique brews. Combining his professional experience in Science and Communication with personal passions for music, health and beer (no, that’s not a contradiction!), James joined the global network of beer bloggers and online writers in 2010 to help amplify the chorus calling for a true appreciation of better beer and dispelling the myths and stereotypes surrounding beer drinkers. Can you turn an unfit VB-loving-bogan into a healthy and intelligent appreciator of beer with a broad palate? James just may be the proof!

Tweet Budgets for marketing and promotion are often minuscule within Australia’s independent microbreweries.
