Your chance to taste Stone fresh…

Our call for Australian beer lovers to say “no” to black marketed beers from US brewery Stone caused a monumental reaction amongst the beer thinking and drinking public here and overseas. It also sparked a fascinating debate about all manner of issues relating to transport, storage and freshness of beer.

We're not sure what we will be trying, but it will be fresh…

While Stone’s Greg Koch isn’t willing to chance his beer to the rigours of international shipping, he’s still keen for Australians to try his beers.

It turns out that Stone Brewing’s Production Coordinator, Ben Lee, has parents who live in Sydney and Ben is heading over for a very brief visit over Christmas. Greg Koch his sending him over with his luggage filled with as much fresh Stone as he can carry…not very much admittedly, but enough for Australian Brews News to offer a few lucky beer lovers the chance to sit and sip some fresh Stone beers with Ben. We’re not sure what he’s bringing, but it will be fresh.

In conjunction with our generous supporters, The Local Taphouse at Darlinghurst, we have ten places to give away for a very exclusive tasting of fresh Stone. Five places will be going to members of the Darlo Ale Stars – keep an eye on the Taphouse blog for details of how to win – and five places will be going to readers of Australian Brews News.

The event will be taking place at The Local Taphouse at Darlinghurst at 6.30pm on Thursday 23rd December.

For your chance to be at the tasting, just email the editor explaining in 25 words or less why you’d like to try fresh Stone beers. Entries close 5pm next Friday, 10 December. Winners will be announced on Monday 13th December by email. To be eligible to attend you need to be in Sydney on 23rd December. Tickets are not transferable.
