Ride the Beechworth town bikes

Bridge Road Brewers has joined two other local Beechworth businesses to develop the local epicurean trade by purchasing a set of ‘town bikes’ for use by visitors to the town.

The brewery joins specialty foodstore the Larder and Pennyweight Wines have set up the first two of what will eventually be four town bikes.

The initiative is aimed at linking the businesses together by giving visitors complementary use of the bicycles. Each bike has a map on its frame giving directions to each business. They are encouraged to gather goods from each for a picnic around town or at the beautiful Lake Sambell, in the heart of Beechworth.

To celebrate the first of these bikes Ben Kraus of Bridge Road Brewers and Steven Morris of Pennyweight winery will collect the first two bikes from Westend Bike Hub in Wangaratta and ride them up the hill back to Beechworth. The three-speed bikes have been designed for a gentle cruise around town and Ben and Steve will have their work cut out for them covering the 40kms uphill back to the Brewery.

The pick-up and drop-off point for the bikes is Bridge Road Brewery, though riders are encouraged to save their beer drinking to satisfy a well-earned thirst after their ride.
