Bavarian Bier Café Wins 2011 Queensland Best Bar Presentation

We recently mentioned the product knowledge of the staff at the Bavarian Bier Cafe in Brisbane. It’s pretty unlikely that the QHA awards dug this deeply into that aspect of bar service in judging these awards (though hopefully one day state hospitality associations will actually consider knowing something about beer as being a valuable part of serving it) , but it’s good to see that they have been recognised for their other aspects of service too.

On Wednesday 5 October, Bavarian Bier Café Brisbane at Eagle Street Pier was awarded Best Bar Presentation and Service at the annual Queensland Hotel Association Awards for Excellence.

The Queensland Hotel Association Awards for Excellence Gala was held last night at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre and attended by industry leaders and peers. The Awards, celebrating their 19th year, recognise and commend those hotels who lead their team to go that extra mile for patrons and guests.

The Award criteria for Best Bar Presentation and Service includes the provision of outstanding customer service and bar presentation; staff appearance and training; popularity amongst patrons; comfort and atmosphere; and availability and choice of food and drinks.

Rob Gibson, General Manager of the Bavarian Bier Café, leads a dedicated team who have delivered a truly high standard of service and presentation since the opening of Bavarian Bier Café in October 2010. “We are thrilled to be recognised for Best Bar Presentation and Service by the QHA. We are fortunate to have attracted a passionate service and back of house team who have delivered on the high standards set by the group. We also thank our many regular and loyal patrons who make working at Bavarian Bier Café a real pleasure,” says Rob.

With ten genuine imported German and Austrian biers on tap, and five exclusive biers available over the next six weeks during Oktoberfest, nearby corporates, locals and visitors alike are able to experience some of the city’s finest pure biers matched with favourites like crackling roast pork belly, freshly crumbed chicken schnitzel and authentic Bratwurst served with Sebago mash.

Bavarian Bier Café at Eagle Street Pier was the very first Bavarian Bier Café opened outside of NSW. With stunning river views of the Story Bridge, the venue immediately established itself as the perfect meeting spot for long lunches, after-work drinks and relaxed dinners at the end of the day. There are now plans in the next month to open venues in The Oracle at Broadbeach, Queensland and Crows Nest in Sydney. Every one of the Bavarian Bier Café venues deliver on an exceptional service experience of Pure Bier, Pure Food, and Pure Passion.
