Good Beer Week 2012 is open for submissions

Good Beer Week is back! The beer festival that took Melbourne by storm in 2011 is set to return bigger and better in 2012.

Over eight days in May, venues and breweries across Melbourne and Victoria will play host to a wide range of amazing events in celebration of quality beer and the people that brew and drink it. From dinners and masterclasses to showcases and tours, it promises to be a week like no other in Australia, crammed with unique beers and amazing brewers from all over the world.

Submissions are now open for 2012. We’re looking for inspired ideas that can take any shape or form as long as they are dedicated in some way to the celebration, appreciation, promotion or enjoyment of good beer. We’re also keen to spread the word beyond existing craft beer lovers, so are on the hunt for events aimed at newcomers to good beer, whoever they may be. Full submission guidelines can be found at goodbeerweek.com.

“The first Good Beer Week was put together in a few weeks but was such a success even we were taken aback,” says co-founder James Smith.

“It highlighted just how much enthusiasm there is for good beer in Australia. With a year to plan the second one and loads of goodwill in the bank, we intend to create the most spectacular series of beer events the country has ever seen.”

Already in place are the Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular at the Royal Exhibition Building on the opening weekend and the Australian International Beer Awards Dinner on May 17. The Good Beer Week team will also be holding an international masterclass and a dinner, dates to be confirmed.

Good Beer Week 2012 runs from May 12 to 19, 2012. To register an event, head to goodbeerweek.com where you will be asked to sign up as a member before submitting details of your proposed event(s).
