Dine with Beer Here at Restaurant DANSK

Beers from Danish brewery Beer Here first arrived on Australian shores in June 2010 to the delight of many craft beer fans.

Driven by brewer Christian Skovdal Andersen, the Scandinavian brewing company operates on a gypsy brewer model similar to his fellow countrymen behind the highly regarded Mikkeller. Based in Copenhagen, Beer Here is brewed across Europe, primarily at a brewpub in Aalborg north of Jutland, but also at locations as far as Brewdog in Scotland.

Beer Here slogan “Do not waste your thirst” points to Andersen’s desire to only brew beers of the highest quality that offer a unique and fulfilling drinking experience.

Setting Beer Here apart, especially across the Australian beer market, is the often provocative and alwayselaborate cartoon label artwork drawn by Andersen, in conjunction with his quirky beer names. Imported into Australia by Northdown Craft Beer Movement, Beer Here has rapidly gained a reputation for producing excellent style-defying beers that are uniquely flavoursome without being extreme.

Now, Northdown gives you the opportunity to dine withChristian Skovdal Andersen during an exclusive six course degustation beer dinner at Denmark House in Melbourne. Check out the details in the below media release. [JD]

Beer Here’s Christian Skovdal Andersen

Christian Skovdal Andersen, of Beer Here, will be there himself introducing each beer and socialising with the guests. We have also arranged for internationally renowned Danish chef Adam Aamann to design the menu and run Dansk’s kitchen on the night – alongside executive head chef Bente Grysbaek.

Aamann’s has been hailed as the re-inventor and saviour of a long-standing Danish tradition – the humble smørrebrød. Experience the ‘bastard son of gastronomy’s ability to turn ryebread into the most extraordinary dishes. This will be Adam’s only public engagement while in Australia!

Danish brewing legend, Christian Skovdal Andersen, was the co-founder, brewer and artistic force behind the award-winning microbrewery, Ølfabrikken. He has since sold his half-share, and solely created Beer Here. Beer Here has taken the brewing world by storm, and after just a few years in operation has already made
it into the prestigious top 100 brewers in the world (three years running), as well as winning numerous medals and awards. Christian lives by the motto “Don’t waste your thirst” and brews aggressive styles with innovative approaches and exciting raw materials, defying known style-guidelines.

We look forward to giving you a taste of the newest culinary developments on the Danish restaurant scene, and a snapshot of some of the best craft beers in the world.

Christian and Northdown’s Adam Best will no doubt be enjoying a beer or two in the city after the event, so any guests who are still thirsty are more than welcome to join!
