Limited edition of Coopers history on sale to the public

To commemorate its 150th anniversary, Coopers Brewery’s will release an updated edition of their official history, A Jolly Good Ale and Old, later this year.

A special limited run of 500 books will also be published, and these have now been offered for sale to the public for a short time.

Each copy of the special edition is individually numbered and includes an embossed cloth hard cover and special slip case as well as your, or a gift recipient’s, name printed inside.

As far as official histories go, A Jolly Good Ale and Old is one of the best. An update of the previous edition, published in 1998, the new edition includes the building of the new brewery and their account of the defence against the attempted Lion Nathan takeover, both topics that should prove to be a very interesting read. The special edition would be of interest to anyone interested in Australian beer history, breweriana and would make a great gift.

Part proceeds from sales will go to the Coopers Brewery charitable foundation.
