Homebrew conference announces beginners' session

This year’s Australian National Homebrew Conference will see the introduction of its first ever Beginners Sessions as well as its first Industry Day.

When: Saturday 27th October. 12noon-5:30pm
Where: William Angliss Institute, 555 Latrobe St, Melbourne
What: Ten 30-minute beginner-oriented sessions

Cost:
$99 Beginner Only Sessions (includes all ten sessions, morning tea and lunch)
$199 Beginners Experience (Access to the introductory sessions held for beginners on Saturday along with access to the Gala Awards dinner on Friday night and Club Night on Saturday night)

ANHC Beginners Sessions

Ever dabbled in homebrewing and given up? Got a mate you avoid because he keeps pressing his latest concoction on you? Just sick of the same old brew? Want to give it a shot but not sure where to start?
Don’t let the name, “ANHC Beginners Sessions” fool you – you’re about to get a turbo kick to the brewing skills you’ve been looking for? The Beginners Session is five hours of the world’s most knowledgeable brewers showing you how to start up, step up and able to put quality beer into the hands of all your mates.

It covers basic brewing techniques, right through to yeast wrangling and brewery bling, you’ll be covering the A-Z for brewers at the start of their journey. Ten 30-minute sessions will take you from beginner to being an ANHC accredited homebrewer.

ANHC Industry Day

One day seminar for brewing professionals featuring six international guest speakers over eight sessions

Many of the ANHC speakers have great experience working in and with the global craft brewing industry. To take advantage of this, the ANHC Committee has created a special one day craft brewing seminar to present six special international guest speakers who will discuss topics relevant to the commercial craft brewing industry. This event will correspond with the Federation Square Beer Showcase, on Thursday October 25th.

Topics include: Water Waste Treatment for Breweries (John Palmer / Palmer Brewing Solutions, Inc.), Bottling and Packaging for Small Breweries (Norbert Stampfer and Jamie Griffith / BevTech), Yeast Management for Small Breweries (Jess Caudill / Wyeast), Yeast Metabolism and Flavours Produced (Chris White/White Labs), Cleaning and Sanitation for Craft Breweries (Jon Herskovits / Five Star), The Metamorphosis of Firestone Walker (Matt Brynildson / Firestone Walker), Exporting Beer Success (Christian Skovdal Andersen / Beerhere.dk) and more here!
