The birthday beer

Fed Square is turning 10 on 26 October and as part of a packed weekend of free public activities, Fed Square will also be making a specially-brewed birthday beer, which will be launched at the Microbreweries Showcase.

With the help of some of the regular brewers who attend the Showcase, an exclusive batch of ‘hoppy’ red ale will be made using all Victorian ingredients.

Prickly Moses Brewery, Holgate Brewhouse and The 3 Ravens Brewing Company are collaborating for the birthday brew, where they’ll also be using local rain water from each of their respective corners of Victoria in the process.

Fed Square called upon the public to help name the birthday beer in a competition which closed last week. Among a variety of creative names, a winner has been chosen, FEDX.

FEDX will be available for purchase at selected Fed Square restaurants from the eve of the birthday weekend, 25 – 28 October.
