GOOD BEER WEEK 2013 – REGISTER NOW!

Australia’s leading celebration of all things beer returns for its third outing in May 2013. And if you want to be part of it, now’s the time to shout out.

The registration process for the 2013 festival, which will feature a vast array of events at venues across Melbourne and Victoria, is NOW OPEN. Anyone wishing to take part has until November 30 to register their venue and submit their planned event(s).

Full details of how to register, plus detailed guidelines, information on past Good Beer Weeks and case studies highlighting past successes can be found at goodbeerweek.com. Look out too for a forthcoming short film about the festival that’s currently in production.

“We’ve opened the submission process earlier this year so that breweries, venues and anyone else intending to take part can finalise their registrations before the busy Christmas period,” says festival co-founder James Smith. “We’ve also introduced more event types in response to feedback from venues who were involved in the first two festivals.

“Our goal for 2013 is ‘Raising The Bar’ – in other words, taking what’s already widely regarded as the leading festival of its kind in the region to another level. This means that, having doubled in size from 2011 to 2012, we’re not necessarily looking for more events but for even higher quality, more inventive and more diverse events than before.

“With the popularity and reach of craft beer growing fast, we will also be providing a platform for more new beer-loving bars and restaurants to announce themselves to the world.”

The third Good Beer Week runs from May 18 to 26, 2013. It will feature Australia’s first ever Craft Brewers Conference run by the newly established Craft Beer Industry Association as well as the Gala Dinner for the 21st Australian International Beer Awards.

  • Good Beer Week was launched in May 2011 and featured around 50 mostly sold out events. The second Good Beer Week in May 2012 featured more than 100 events and attracted thousands of visitors and brewers from across Australia and overseas.
  • The Good Beer Week website is at goodbeerweek.com. A new, more interactive site is being developed for 2013.
  • You can also stay in touch with the festival via Facebook – facebook.com/GoodBeerWeek – and Twitter – twitter.com/GoodBeerWeek.
