The Local Taphouse, together with The Crafty Pint and our good selves, is again looking for your input as we seek to discover what the hottest craft beers for the past year have been.
There is no shortage these days of beer awards, and the annual Critics’ Choice book provides a great guide to what Australia’s leading beer writers, brewers and retailers think are the best beers in Australia. But the annual Hottest 100 poll is the only chance for the Australian beer drinker to say which beers really rocked their beer world over the last 12 months.
So, take your time. Think back over the beers that have really mattered to you in 2012. The beers that you have reached for when you really wanted something good. The beers that you have chosen to share with a friend. The beer that you have most looked forward to. Think of them all, and let us know which beers have made you feel that it’s good to be alive in 2012.
The top beers will again be counted down in an Australia Day extravaganza, but first you need to vote.
So, get thinking about what you’ve been drinking. And then vote….

Any else unable to fill in this form? I get to choice #4 and #5 and can’t scroll to find the beers I want to select…NEXT button is barely visible. Get to the next Captcha Submit screen, fill out the details and there is no submit button? This is on Chrome, Safari and FFOx on a MAC!!?!?
Hi Ben. Apologies, there was a glitch with our coding. I think we’ve fixed it now, should it should work probably to allow scrolling.
Can you try it again?
You can’t vote on poll on an iPad. I can’t get paste the type the word o the left!
Murray’s AA6 was brewed and released in 2011 not 2012.
Doctor’s Orders is missing Prescription 12/Prescription 12 Elixir/Defibrillator. Synapse and Pulse were 2011 (I’m pretty sure). Night Nurse is a collaboration between YH and Doc.
Bright Stubborn Russian is listed twice, which could divide the votes. Topaz Marzen was last year from memory.
Also, I feel terrible for Zierholz, scrolling to the bottom – ain’t nobody got time for that.
Hi Regan. Murray’s AA6 has still been available for purchase throughout 2012, so it’s on the list.
We’ll add the missing beers that you’ve picked up on and correct the duplicates. Thanks for the feedback.
The above post does include a link to submit any suggestions of missing beers:
“If you know of a new brewery that has opened and has a beer you’d like to vote for, please Click here.”
The point was more about the immaturity of the list and making sure people didn’t vote immediately. It’s quite behind, there are so many beers missing and if people vote now they’ll miss out.
Thanks for picking up the double stubborn russian, these have been merged.
Murray’s AA6 was a 2011 release, but was also available for sale in 2012.
The other missing beers will be added shortly, but the best way to suggest missing beers is to use the beer suggestion link in the poll itself.
Andrew
