Thunder Road Brewing Company Launches Collingwood Draught

Thunder Road Brewing Company launches Collingwood Draught

Bringing Flavour, Fun and Rivalry Back to Beer!

April 5, 2013 – Thunder Road Brewing Company today announced the next addition to its year-round product range, Collingwood Draught, with a pledge to bring flavour back to beer.

TRB_Collingwood_Draught“Bringing flavour back to beer might sounds simple, but when you’re fighting in a market dominated by two big multinational brewers – that together control roughly 94% of the Australian beer market – it’s not easy,” said Philip Withers, CEO of Thunder Road Brewing Company.

Collingwood Draught is a rich, chestnut coloured lager with a malty aroma and a subtle toasty sweetness. Long on flavour, it’s unpasteurized to preserve maximum taste and freshness.

“In the Australian beer war, Collingwood Draught is David facing off against an army of bland, tasteless Goliaths,” said Withers.

“For years, the Australian beer market has been in decline. No surprise there since consumers have been starved for choice. Our answer to this is simple: give the beer drinking public what they’ve been crying out for – great flavour, freshness and choice.”

Produced with traditional brewing methods and ingredients, Collingwood Draught does not use any corner-cutting artificial ingredients, preservatives or extracts, like some mass-produced beer brands. Collingwood Draught will initially be sold on tap to pubs and restaurants and later bottled for national retail distribution.

Thunder Road Brewing Company is a leading independent brewery in the working class suburb of Brunswick in Victoria, Australia.  Since opening its doors for business in 2011, the brewery’s beers have taken Melbourne by storm and are now expanding nationally throughout Australia.

Thunder Road Brewing Company brews year-round flagship beers including Full Steam Pale Lager and Brunswick Bitter, as well as limited release seasonal beers, for on-tap sales.  The company is well known for its fanatical focus on freshness and quality and produces beers that appeal to a broad audience.
