Volunteers required

Those familiar with Cavalier Courage will know that it is both a project to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease and a spankingly good ale bearing the same name. Packed with Pilsner-esque hop character Cavalier Courage is a quaffable ale which earns much needed dollars for the cause.

Imagined by Dr Ian Davis and crafted by Andrew Cronin, Steve Martin and Heath Shirtcliffe at Cavalier, it has captured the imagination of beer drinkers who have happily dug deep to support this worthy initiative.

The specially designed bike which will take Ian and Scott from Brisbane to Sydney

Dr Ian Davis, along with Scott Sullivan is about to embark on an even grander quest to spread the word about this aggressively debilitating disease by riding a bike. {Hipster alert!!} No ironic ‘fixie’ is this, however, but a specially designed bike allowing each rider to make use of his respective remaining physical abilities. Half the bike is foot-pedal powered and the other is hand-crank powered. The boys will ride from Brisbane to Sydney from Friday May 3 to Saturday May 18.

Here’s where you come in.

If any beer loving readers are able to volunteer some time as support crew (drive-sharing of support vehicles, setting up marquees in forward locations etc) this is your time to shine. One day, two days, whatever time you can spare. The team can sort out flights and all accommodation is taken care of. For those still uhmm-ing and ahh-ing, how about this?

On Sunday May 5th the convoy is making a special detour on the Byron Bay leg of the trip to incorporate an open day at Stone & Wood. A bit of live music, local food stalls, home made ginger beer, brewery tours and ….. beer! What more incentive do you need?!

All the info you need can be found here http://www.facebook.com/ian.davis.1829405 If you can’t spare the time to assist, you can always donate a few coins to the cause.
