Number nine in the Critics’ Choice Top 100 is the Mountain Goat India Pale Ale. Brewed in Richmond, Vic, Mountain Goat IPA is the latest addition to the stable of goat beers available everyday in a 330ml bottle. As seasonal brews of this beer in 640ml format have been so popular the addition was made.
Brewed using Pale, Wheat and Crystal Malts the beer has good body and is well balanced by the use of Citra and Galaxy hops. Beer Bloke, Ian Kingham writes that ‘the bigger alcohol compliments the palate and the hop offers some refreshing cues as well as bitterness and aroma.’
Described by the Mountain Goat team as the Rare Breed that could. ‘Our most popular Rare Breed made it to permanent fixture. Fruity, tropical aroma, characteristic of New World Hops – lots of dry – hopping with Galaxy (Tas) and Cascade (USA). Robust flavour, fruity, intense bitterness.’
