BrewSmith launches new kit beer…

New BrewSmith Beer – Aussie Wattle Pale Home Brewing Kit and Recipe

BrewSmith Aussie Wattle Pale Ale Refill BagOver the past few months, we’ve been busy brewing in the BrewSmith kitchen and are pleased to announce the imminent release of our Aussie Wattle Pale Ale.

Frankly, we were quite surprised that there aren’t more beers using Aussie native herbs and spices. We experimented with many Australian herbs, fruits and nuts and found that they can be delightful in beer. This is a beer that highlights the native flavours of Australia and uses all Aussie hops. This is a full bodied beer, but isn’t too heavy.

At 4.4%, it’s a sessionable way to try the flavours of the outback in a nice pale ale. While the herbal hop flavour is strong, it’s still quite approachable. There’s a lot of grassy, melon flavour and a noticeable hop backbone. It tastes a bit like Coopers, a bit like Little Creatures Pale, but with more hop complexity and a nice nuttiness from the wattle seed.

We’re taking pre-orders for the kits and recipe refills as well. They’ll be delivered as soon as they are packed (expected 1st week of September)!

The recipe includes a pack of specialty steeping grains and fresh ground wattle seed to use in your new beer.

We also wanted it to be an easy recipe too: this beer only needs a 45 minute boil and you can use the leftover spent grain for home-made bread, pizza, cake or even cheesecake!

At any time during the year, wattle is blooming somewhere in Australia. Let the new Aussie Wattle Pale Ale blossom in your kitchen year round!

Happy BrewSmithing!
