HPA appoints Sales and Marketing Manager

Hop Products Australia (HPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of former Moo Brew Head Brewer, Owen Johnston as Sales and Marketing Manager.

Having experience in the business and practical application of hops in the brewing industry, Owen brings an exciting breadth of knowledge to the HPA team.

A highly qualified hop head in his own right, Owen holds a Master of Science from the esteemed International Centre for Brewing and Distilling at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, along with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Analytical Chemistry and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tasmania.

HPA Managing Director Tim Lord said of the appointment; “As a Tasmanian brewer, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Owen many times over the years. His business and marketing acumen, first hand industry experience and unmatchable work ethic make him an invaluable addition to our team.”

Tim continued; “We’re fortunate to have found a Sales and Marketing Manager who understands the practical application of our hops on the brewery floor and how they fit with what brewers, and beer drinkers want. Owen will focus initially on building stronger working relationships with Australian craft brewers and over time this will extend to our international customers.”

Owen said, “I’m thrilled to join HPA and look forward to working with the brewing community once more. Since launching hops.com.au, HPA’s profile has continued to grow in the international craft brewing market. It’s an exciting time to see HPA’s innovative hop flavours come to life for brewers and beer drinkers the world over.”

This appointment comes in response to the growing demand for HPA flavour and aroma hops in Australia and abroad. Owen commences his role on Monday 14 October 2013.
