Rock the Cask Bar

Event poster for Rock the Cask BarLeading Australian breweries to participate in unique craft beer event

This February, some of the best craft breweries from around Australia are participating in a unique beerevent inspired by the best English Real Ales.

‘Rock the Cask Bar’ at The Local Taphouse will feature Mountain Goat, FeralBrewery, Riverside Brewing and other leading Australian craft breweries offering a twist on one of theirregular beers by putting the beer in a traditional cask (as opposed to a keg). In some cases, the brewers will also be addingadditional or different ingredients.

Cask ales result in a gentler level of carbonation, a rounder mouthfeel and often a slightly more complexflavour and aromatic profile. Cask ale, or cask-conditioned beer, is also referred to as real ale, a termcoined by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) in the UK.

Samples and tasting notes will be supplied for all beers and there will also be live entertainment for thecelebrations.

The exclusive line-up of cask beers pouring at the event will include:

  • Amber 2.0 (Riverside, NSW)
  • Scotch Ale (Red Hill, VIC)
  • Dry hopped Hightail (Mountain Goat, VIC)
  • Apocalypso IPA (Illawarra, NSW)
  • Barrel Fermented Hop Hog (Feral, WA)
  • Dry hopped Bling IPA (Bridge Road, VIC)
  • Angry Man Pale Ale (Murray’s, NSW)
  • English Pale Ale (Bright, VIC)
  • ESB (Hargreaves Hill, VIC)
