Cavalier Brewery Open Day

When Cavalier Brewing quietly snuck onto the Melbourne craft beer scene during a microbrewery showcase at Fed Square, even the boys themselves were unaware of the surprises ahead. Essentially three mates who loved good beer and, more importantly, sharing it with strangers, Cavalier have moved from humble backyard beginnings to fully-fledged, ground-breaking innovators. Their brewery model, where other up-and-coming brewers are encouraged to either contract brew on their equipment or to own a little piece of the brewhouse to suit their brewing needs, is unique.

cav open dayTo celebrate the first year of occupancy of their flash new digs the boys are throwing the doors open, letting a dozen other brewers set up stall and even driving the guests to and from the city by bus – all you have to do is enjoy the fun, froth and frivolity. It all happens this Saturday, May 17th.

Beer Trivia, a full-on Low & Slow BBQ feast and a rare chance to chat up close and personal with some of Melbourne’s new and veteran brewers over a pint or two is a great way to kick off your Good Beer Week journey. {PM}

Media Release

Cavalier celebrates one year in our new brewery with an open day beer event.

Our story started in a small shed, then quick expansion moved us to gypsy brewing, borrowing tank space from any brewery that would have us in. If it weren’t for the helpful nature of people and breweries in this industry we would all be in a very different state of affairs.

This event highlights the fact that we are all in this together. The brewing community moves together and by offering other fledging brewing companies the opportunities that we were lucky enough to have had by working with us or having tank/s installed to kick start their business’s or to make a limited release batch of beer with no boundaries makes us proud and we want to share the love. We call it the brewery cycle of life, or something along those lines.
So we have invited all past and present beery friends who we have worked with along for the bash!

12 breweries, large and small, 28 beers on tap, live music, all you can eat 18 hour slow cooked beef brisket (vego option available) BBQ and salads, beer trivia with Pete Mitcham, giveaways, beer games, fun, beer and more fun.
