Jindabyne Brewing Company launches

2097_Jindabyne_Brewery_Logo_DiecutKarl Veiss, a ski instructor in the NSW Snowy Mountains, has decided to take his homebrewing passion to the next level.

Veiss fell in love with beer while travelling to the skifields of the US and Europe and began homebrewing upon his return to Australia.

In recent weeks, he has secured a liquor licence and all the relevant approvals for Jindabyne Brewing, based at his home in nearby Kalkite.

“I just dropped off my first keg a few days ago,” he told Australian Brews News.

C.B.D. [Coffee Beats Drinks] Cafe in Jindabyne is the first venue to begin pouring Veiss’s beers.

Veiss ordered his 200L nano setup from Core Brewing Concepts (CBC), the equipment supplier that collapsed earlier this year.

Unlike some of CBC’s customers, Veiss did eventually receive his equipment, albeit 12 months later than he hoped.

The Jindabyne Brewing core range comprises a Pilsener, a Wheat Beer and an American-style Red Ale.

“Hopefully in about 12 months’ time I’ll be looking at expanding into bigger premises,” he said.
