November 10: This Friday, the doors are being flung open to a new laneway venue with a mantra of good beer & good food.
In the heart of Brisbane’s cultural precinct. Saccharomyces Beer Cafe is part beer hall, part indoor beer garden with an emphasis on artisan-produced drinks and eats from all over the country and the world.
Saccharomyces will be serving an AM menu seven days a week including coffee from the Artisan Coffee Roaster and breakfast classics such as Eggs Benedict and Peanut Butter pancakes.
The PM bar service will be available Tuesday to Sunday accompanied by a rotating and seasonal food menu allowing patrons to find something a little different on every visit.
Saccharomyces is the brainchild of amateur home-brewers and beer lovers Simon Booy & Luke Gardiner who have created the venue with the help of Booy’s siblings Dirk & Felicity.
To them, the new venture represents the opportunity to make craft & handmade alcohol more accessible to enthusiasts and the mainstream alike in a bar unlike any other in Brisbane – designed by May Tree Studios it features custom furniture and fittings by local businesses: Hand Built Co, Blumen Watts & Pop Concrete.
With a casual laneway feel, 10 taps and a handpicked stock of bottles, Saccharomyces has something to offer for both locals and visitors.
