Whisk(e)y, Cheese and Beer
– Boilermaker House,Monday May 16
“My highlight event at GBW2015 was La Sirene’s match up with Rodenbach and Merrciote for a lunchtime beer and food pairing that was inspiring. Beer and farmhouse ales make for some of the best pairings and with La Sirene pairing up with cheese master Celia from Richmond Hill Larder, that alone makes this event attractive. Similarly whisky and cheese pair beautifully, but I have never considered pairing whisky to farmhouse ales, so this event would be a experience.”

Feral Brewing Meet The Brewer Dinner – Boilermaker House, Saturday May 21
“I can’t go past an opportunity to catch up with the guys from Feral. As well as being at the forefront of the new age of craft brewing, they have been terrific supporters of Good Beer Week since its inception. To have a meet & greet with the head brewer while sipping on specialty brews, sneaky whisky tasters and some seriously good food from The Boilermaker House kitchen is too good to pass up.”

Streetside Brew with Merri Mashers – Carwyn Cellars,Saturday May 14
“For a free gig, I have to throw in this event as a must-do for any homebrewers or those thinking of getting in to it. A group from Merri Mashers Homebrew Club have recently gone pro with OldWives’ Ales and this is a great chance to see how it all works, ask questions and get on your way to becoming the next Brad Rogers.”

Palate Cleanser – Boatrocker Barrel Room, Sunday May 22
“Boatrocker is currently one of Australia’s most exciting breweries, now with one of the country’s few purpose-built barrel rooms. Beers of many different persuasions are carefully being matured at the Braeside facility, however this event is all about the sours. Classics from some of Boatrocker’s favourite breweries will be showcased alongside a selection of its own beers, accompanied by slow cooked meats and charcuterie. What a way to cap off Good Beer Week.”

And don’t forget…
