Demons out for Brewmanity fundraiser

August 2, 2016 by Pete Mitcham

Supporters of AFL founding club, Melbourne Demons, are often the butt of jokes around this time of year for deserting their sometimes-struggling team to head for the snowfields in their Range Rovers, all the while declaring that; “the young number 37 looks a prospect, hmm?”

All jokes aside, those wanting to either support the club in a snow-based way or to exact a small element of revenge for past performances might want to head to The Wharf Hotel in Melbourne on Saturday August 13th where beer will, again, be at the forefront of a good cause.

A group of former players have offered up their instinctive human need for warmth during winter – along with no small measure of their dignity – to be ‘ice-bucketed’ to raise money for #CureMND. Led by former captain, goal kicker, club legend and Brewmanity Beer chief, David Neitz, the lads will allow themselves to have a bucket of ice tipped on them by a lucky participant at the event.

Details
‘Come and freeze one of the Six ex Dee’s* all in the name of raising funds for the Daniher Drive, and the Cure for MND Foundation!

David Neitz, Paul Hopgood, Clint Bizzell, Ben Holland, Anthony Ingerson, and John Ahern are all putting themselves up for an ice bucket challenge of epic proportions at the half time break of Melbourne Vs Port Adelaide – and you could be the one to let them have it!

So dress in a ‘touch of snow’ and come along for a great night of fun and teeth chattering humour, all while watching the Demons play the Power live on the big screen.

Tickets are $50, and will include finger food and 3 Brewmanity beers (or House wine) with proceeds donated to the Cure for MND Foundation.

So come along by purchasing online here.’

*According to Neitz another 4 Dees have generously volunteered been co-opted into joining the fun while music will be provided by Powderfinger’s Darren Middleton on the night. Brews News encourages all football fans to get along and support the Cure for MND while enjoying a few Brewmanity brews and the game on the big screen.
