Mainland debut: Wizard Smith’s

James Boag’s Wizard Smith’s Ale will soon be officially available on the mainland, exclusively through Coles Liquor stores.

Starting Wednesday in Liquorland and from August 24 in First Choice and Vintage Cellars, the Tasmanian beer will be available in all outlets nationally until sold out.

“We anticipate this will be no more than six to eight weeks as only a limited supply of stock has been made available, so recommend consumers get in quick,” Lion said.

A traditional English Pale Ale, Wizard Smith’s has been exclusive to Tasmania since its launch in 2007.

A Facebook campaign for Lion to make the product available on the mainland has attracted 257 supporters.

Yes. It was initially released as a one off in 2007 & available on the mainland at the time. I recall it being available in Dan Murphys. It then went onto TAS only. Link to article at the bottom of post.
So maybe they actually mean that it’s the first time you can officially buy it at Coles. Either way, its marketing….
