Taco cans launch December 1

The start of the great Australian Summer and the humble tinny, undoubtedly one of the finer contributions to Australian culture, will come together next Thursday night (Dec 1) at two launch parties, to celebrate Two Birds Taco’s launch into tins.

Two Birds founders, Danielle Allen and Jayne Lewis, will host the free launch parties taking place simultaneously at popular craft beer temples, Keg & Brew in Surry Hills, Sydney and Slow Beer Fitzroy, Melbourne.

These not-to-be-missed free events, both kick off at 6pm where beer lovers can score themselves a complimentary Taco Tin paired with a delicious taco*! There’s also an opportunity to meet and greet with the Two Birds crew and take advantage of special pricing on the night.

The Taco Story
The idea for Taco was hatched in 2013, when the birds set off to Southern California in search of inspiration to build their dream brewery, The Nest. Inspiration struck at 30,000ft, on a flight from San Diego to Portland, when the Two Birds decided to brew a beer using the fresh flavours of their favourite food on the trip, Mexican tacos.

Taco was originally brewed as a one-off beer for a festival in 2013 and became so popular that it became part of the permanent lineup. Taco is brewed all year round for both tap and bottles and now available in 375mL cans for summer.

Two Birds Taco is brewed using ale and wheat malts, with an addition of flaked corn. Citra and Amarillo hops contribute citrus and fruity characters, which complement the additions of coriander leaf and fresh lime peel. The beer pours a hazy shade of pale and is fermented with a clean ale yeast to allow the fresh flavours to shine.

Taco Tins (RRP: $20 for 4 pack) will be available from Dec 2 throughout stores nationally.
