North America’s Founders Brewing Co. is set to be distributed in Australia by Red Island, owner of local brand Quiet Deeds.
Established 20 years ago in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Founders is among the top 20 largest craft breweries in the U.S.
Previously distributed in Australia by Phoenix Beers, the Founders range will be available through Red Island from March.
The portfolio includes KBS, consistently one of the top rated beers in the world, as well as two barrel-aged beers that have never been available in Australia before: Frootwood, a barrel aged Cherry Ale and Lizard of Koz, a barrel-aged Imperial Stout with Blueberries, chocolate and Vanilla.
Known as the Backstage Series, Founders’ barrel-aged program will be a major focus for Founders this year, with plans to release six barrel-aged beers in 2017.
“We are super excited to be distributing Founders,” said Red Island co-founder, Patrick Ale. “Personally, it is one of my favorite breweries, and has an amazing range of beers – some of which we will be bringing into the country for the first time.”
