The Tasmanian brewing community will host a fundraising event on Friday June 30 for the family of Ty Capaci, co-founder of Double Head Brewing, who passed away recently.
To celebrate Ty’s brewing legacy, breweries and bars from all around Tasmania will be tapping, as one, the very last batches of Double Head beer brewed by Ty himself.
“The other ‘head’, Ty’s wonderful wife Amanda, has kindly agreed to release these final batches for this state-wide event,” the organisers said.
“We invite the community who have supported Double Head Brewing, all local brewers and the bars that serve our local beers, to pop into one of your favourite venues, and raise a pint of one of Ty’s last beers in his honour.
“Money raised by each venue will be donated to Double Head to aid Ty’s family as they begin the long walk of recovery.
“Please, even if you’re not a regular, drop in, have a chat, and join in the community of support as we raise a pint to salute this wonderful individual.
“Participating venues will be added to this page as kegs are delivered ready for pouring from 4pm Friday the 30th of June.”
The current participating venues are Last Rites Brewing Company, Hobart Brewing Company, Shambles Brewery, The Winston, Empress Craft Beer and Saint John Craft Beer.
