Fixation Brewing Company has announced the debut packaged release of Squish, an IPA infused with white grapefruit and blood orange.

There have been two pilot batches of Squish prior to the upcoming launch in 330ml cans, managing partner Tom Delmont told Brews News.

“We changed around the different fruit additions, the amount of blood orange versus grapefruit,” he said.

“The first batch in March was very citrusy and orangey. People still loved it, but you want to have that balance there, where they can enjoy a four-pack of it.

“The second batch we got the balance right. That was the beer that people would have tried at GABS and Good Beer Week,” Delmont said.

The can release will be made possible by a visit from mobile canning operator, East Coast Canning, next week.

“For us it’s a beer that will suit the can occasion pretty well, and I thought we could also have a lot of fun with the artwork on a can, having that extra surface to play with,” he said.

Squish Citrus IPA is 5.9 per cent ABV and 45 IBU, with a hop bill comprised of Citra, Amarillo and Mosaic.

It will be available through selected independent retailers starting mid-July.
