Photographer explores brewing personalities

Melbourne-based photographer to the stars, Paul Griggs, has turned his attention to the brewing industry in a new exhibition.

Dubbed simply Brew, the exhibition celebrates the unique personalities behind Australian and international craft breweries, including Pirate Life, Brooklyn Brewery, Moon Dog, Garage Project, 3 Ravens and more.

Griggs is a wedding and portrait photographer who has captured the weddings of numerous celebrities including actors Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Furness.

He is also the brother of publican Russell Griggs, who fronts the family’s interests in some renowned Melbourne beer venues.

“The idea evolved from wanting to put faces to the product, which we obviously support and offer at our family-owned businesses, being Forester’s Hall Collingwood and The Terminus Hotel North Fitzroy,” Paul Griggs told Brews News.

“They’re all rock stars in their own right, so I thought there’s some pictures here to be had.”

The exhibition is open from August 19 until September 16 at Mallow Hotel in Ballarat as part of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale.
