Nowhereman Brewing Company has settled on a range of beers that includes three lagers at its new brewpub in West Leederville, Perth.
The brewery founded by former WA Beer Week director Reece Wheadon finally got its own facility operational in July, having secured the site two years earlier.
Paul Wyman, formerly of The Monk and Colonial Brewing Company, joined as head brewer late last year.
“The beers are excellent. We’ve got a lager, which is just a really classic pilsner, and we’ve got a steam ale, a dark lager, a saison and a pale ale,” Wheadon told Brews News.
“We’ve got three lagers, out of five core range beers. It just kind of came together that way, trying to find ways to showcase flavour without just throwing in tropical hops.
“We’re trying to take people through everything beer can be, I suppose, but obviously we’ll still pump out some crazy hoppy limited releases.”
Since August the venue is been open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday, serving pizzas and charcuterie to enthusiastic locals.
“The place has been very busy, it’s been good. We find people come back for the beers and people come back for the food,” Wheadon said.
“Most of our chefs come from fairly high end restaurants and we’ve convinced them a brewery is a good place to be, so we’re getting food that’s probably a step above what people are used to.
“Even if it’s just the pizza, it’s 100 per cent made in house. A lot of care and dedication goes into the food, just like the beer.”
Nowhereman is operating an 18-hectolitre brewhouse from Premier Stainless and has recently begun wholesaling its beers off-site, but has no plans to package them at this stage.
“We’ll revisit that in 12 months or so,” Wheadon said.
Nowhereman is located at 25 Harrogate St, West Leederville.

Spark releases new all-in-one brewhouse
