Bright Brewery wins major tourism gong

Bright Brewery has been awarded Victoria’s highest honour for Tourism Wineries, Distilleries & Breweries at the 2017 Victorian Tourism Awards.

It’s the first time in more than a decade that a brewery has won the top award in the category at the Victorian Tourism Awards.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to win Gold in this very competitive category,” said Mr Brandon.

“Bright Brewery was founded for three reasons; to make the best beer in the region, to create that beer using sustainable practices and to promote Bright and the surrounding areas as a tourist destination hub. These principles drive everything we do and this award recognises the effort we’ve put into living and breathing our core values to be authentic, sustainable and active in all our business decisions and practices.”

Sarah Higman, Scott Brandon, James Davidson and Richard Chamberlin celebrate their Gold Award at the 2017 RACV Victorian Tourism Awards.

“We’re proud to be recognised alongside such excellent businesses, including our independent craft brewing friends at Mornington Peninsula Brewery (Bronze Award), fellow brewers at Little Creatures Geelong (Finalist), and the crews from Crittenden Estate Wine Centre (Silver Award) and Sedona Estate (Finalist).”

“The Tourism Awards process is a fantastic experience for grounding our business, to ensure we are doing the right thing for the tourism industry and that we have a robust and sustainable business.”

“We look forward to continuing our efforts to build on and improve Bright Brewery’s tourism offerings and industry partnerships, and helping our region’s local tourism thrive in Bright and Victoria’s high country.”

The Victorian Tourism Awards, run by the Victorian Tourism Industry Council (VTIC), represent an industry framework for peer recognition of business development excellence and innovation.

Bright Brewery Marketing Manager, James Davidson said that the Victorian Tourism Awards provide a benchmark for tourism excellence through an examination of business practice.

“The awards process addresses the nuts and bolts of operating and managing a robust tourism business,” said Mr Davidson.

“It examines your business planning, marketing, customer service and contributions to sustainability and your community.”

“Winning Gold is fantastic validation for our management of Bright Brewery, from our strategic planning through to delivering on staff training, as well as the partnerships we have formed to support both the local community and wider tourism industry.”

“Not only are all these aspects important us at Bright Brewery, this Gold award shows that we’re operating the right way to be a successful and sustainable business and that we are having a positive impact on our region’s economy.”

“It’s a credit to our whole team across the brewery, bar, kitchen and office. With more than 40 people employed at Bright Brewery, this was truly a team effort.”

Bright Brewery is open every day from 11:00am until late, serving beer-matched meals for lunch and dinner, and providing a beautiful destination in the heart of Bright to kick back with a MountainCraftedTM beer. We hope you can visit us soon!
