Bright Brewery releases 'body positive calendar'

You can now enjoy The Best Bits of Bright… year-round. Bright Brewery’s staff, in all their shapes and sizes, have created their own body-loving calendar in order to raise a donation for Beyond Blue’s research and outreach related to body image, anxiety and depression.

The recent festive holiday and new year’s period is often a time to come together with family and friends to reflect on the past year and indulge in our favourite things. For many, it is also a very difficult time as they battle the pressures and perceptions of body image, anxiety and depression. While “diet” is an all too common new year’s resolution, Bright Brewery’s team prefers the call to action to “get outdoors, get active”.

At Bright Brewery we are active, sustainable and authentic. We enjoy active lifestyles that revolve around Bright’s awesome outdoor activities… and yet we don’t look like fitness models. We hope this calendar can show that strong bodies and lives come in many forms.

The calendar features Bright Brewery’s staff enjoying some of the amazing activities and scenery around their home town of Bright.

We hope this special project will open up positive conversation about body image and mental health, while also showcasing some of the best outdoor activities and attractions of Bright.

The calendar is available to purchase for $30 from Bright Brewery’s bar and website.

All profits from this calendar will be donated to Beyond Blue in support of their ongoingwork to equip Australians with the knowledge, skills and support to protect their mental health.

Mental health has been a recent focus for Bright Brewery, as both the hospitality and brewing industries increasingly recognise the need to help support and manage the mental health of staff in these high-pressure work places.

Bright Brewery’s management team completed timely Mental Health First Aid training and accreditation prior to Christmas. This will enable the brewery’s senior staff to identify and offer initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.

Bright Brewery team wishes all a happy new year.
