TAFE South Australia announces beer and brewing courses

TAFE South Australia is offering short beer courses covering flavour knowledge and practical brewing skills at its Regency Park Campus.

Beer Flavours and Styles is a four-week course that runs over four evening sessions from June 8 to 29, designed for beer enthusiasts wanting to gain more knowledge of beer styles, flavours, and sensory awareness.

Participants will learn theoretical flavour knowledge and vocabulary and exposer to diverse beer styles, including fault finding and competition judging.

Craft Beer Boot Camp is a five-day practical course running from July 9 to 13, or November 19 to 23. It will take place in the small commercial brewery located on campus.

The intensive course is designed for those interested in trying commercial brewing and will act as a preview for the Certificate III Program in Food Processing (Micro Brewing).

Both courses are run by head lecturer Stephen Nelsen, a qualified and experienced brewer and an IBD accredited trainer.

More information on the courses can be found here.
