Bright Brewery has announced a new release format for its monthly limited-release beers.

With the small independent brewery in Victoria’s High Country now operating two brewhouses, they have expanded their small batch limited releases to provide a new beer every month exclusively for members of their Bright Mash Beer Club or visitors to their brewery venue in Bright, Victoria.

“Late last year we commissioned our new production brewery in Bright to increase our capacity so that we can now produce enough beer for the wholesale market”, Bright Brewery marketing and sales managerJames Davidson explained.

“The new brewhouse is now fully operational and producing fantastic batches of our core range beers,
demonstrated by the Gold medals for Hellfire Amber and Fainters Dubbel and Silver for Staircase Porter that we achieved at the recent 2018 Indies Beer Awards.”

“This means that our original 12 hectolitre brewhouse has become our brewer’s playground, providing us with broad scope to experiment with new beers, as well as brewing traditional favourites from across the spectrum and history of beer styles.”

“These beers will become exclusive in bottles to our Bright Mash beer club members or visitors to our brewery in beautiful Bright.”

“We will release some kegs to the wholesale market, as we continue to build great relationships with the fantastic beer loving focused bars, pubs and restaurants around Victoria. We’re also keen to help service the special beer events that makes Melbourne a real hot spot for new beer discovery.”

“Our annual seasonal beers will now be increased to also supply the local wholesale market. This includes MIA IPA, Stubborn Russian and Black Diamond in winter, Saison in Summer, Wandi Brown Ale and our Hop Harvest Ale in Autumn, plus a couple of exciting new developments as we tinker with our core range of MountainCrafted beers.”

Each quarterly shipment of Bright Mash beer club boxes will contain at least three exclusive beers. The upcoming August Mash club box is the first to feature this, with three new dark beers for winter. Bright Brewery head brewer Rich Chamberlin has drawn on his formative brewing career years in England and
produced some of his favourite traditional beer styles for winter, with a Schwarzbier and Dunkelweizen.

Also included is a Belgian Smoked Porter that was brewed as part of our monthly Brewer For A Day program, where you can experience the life of a brewer, spending a full day in their boots producing a batch of beer under the guidance of our head brewer. Previously, all of these beers would have been available on demand for any wholesale or retail customer. Now, beer lovers will need to be a member of our Bright Mash beer club or visit Bright Brewery to access these special releases.

Bright Mash members will also have a say in what beers are brewed, with a regular survey of new beer preferences and suggestions being added to the club next month.

“We’re excited about the new beer possibilities that this has opened up for us,” Davidson said.

“The two brewhouses will allow for innovation, experimentation and exclusivity beyond what has ever before been possible for Bright Brewery. This is also in addition to formally establishing a barrel program last month. The Belgian Smoked Porter, a new barleywine and Stubborn Russian have been added to ex-Starward Whisky barrels for future releases, and we are developing a lambic-style base in red wine barrels. First access to these beers will be offered to Bright Mash members, so join up today via our Bright Brewery website!”
