Keg Bottle Can by Luke Robertson

Keg-Bottle-CanKeg Bottle Can celebrates the best of Australian craft beer, from easy-to-drink crisp lagers and pale ales to stouts, porters and sours. Keg Bottle Can presents 150 Australian brews, organised by beer-drinking occasion: from the refreshing after-work beverage to beers that challenge your perception and palate, to art appreciation through beers with well-considered labels.

Keg Bottle Can is, at its core, a celebration of the good times beer brings. Grab a cold one and enjoy.

Luke Robertson was born in Westport, New Zealand, a sleepy town on the beautiful west coast of the South Island, which is famous for having a lot of pubs. Luke soon found a love for those pubs’ colourful characters, along with the ambers, porters and stouts pouring through the taps.
When he moved to Melbourne in 2005, he realised he’d have to work a bit harder to find the dark beers he missed so much.

As a result, he began exploring Australia’s bars, breweries and bottle shops. While working in operations management at a media company, he also launched his own website and podcast in 2010. Ale of a Time has since gone on to win awards for its contribution to the industry. Now Luke is focusing on beer full-time, and you can find him hosting events and working closely with major festivals and breweries, both in public and behind the scenes.

Brew a Batch by Christopher Sidwa

brew-a-batchJoin the craft beer phenomenon by learning to brew and bottle your own beer, brewed the way you like it and using only basic home brewing equipment. Christopher Sidwa walks you through the entire process, from choosing the best ingredients to setting up your home brewery, a full guide to brewing techniques, even how to taste and assess your batch.

There is no mistake Christopher hasn’t made while brewing at home, so that you don’t have to. This lively handbook assumes no prior knowledge and covers all the advice you need to start brewing great beer.

Christopher Sidwa is co-founder of Sydney-based Batch Brewing Co., a craft beer manufacturer that makes beer the traditional way: hand-crafted and batch by batch. The Wreck Preservation Ale

james-squire-thewreck-thumbThis is the story of the world’s oldest surviving beer. Crafted with yeast from a 220-year-old bottle of beer recovered from the depths of the icy waters off Tasmania on Australia’s oldest merchant wreck, Sydney Cove, this dark and malty porter has captured an international audience.

Around 2,200 bottles of James Squire’s The Wreck have been allocated to Dan Murphy’s stores nationwide. A small quantity of the packaged beer will also be available for purchase in Tasmania through the Queen Victoria Museum & Art Gallery in Launceston, which houses the Sydney Cove wreck.

The Wreck has been bottled in a premium 750ml glass bottle, with a gold embossed label and wax dipped seal and packaged in a hard, black casing.
