Sydney Brewery has taken out two ‘World’s Best’ awards at this year’s World Cider Awards.

The UK-based awards, run by drinks industry publisher Paragraph Publishing, see all entries blind tasted and scored throughout three rounds of judging.

In the first round, Bronze, Silver and Gold medals were awarded. Each Gold medal winner was then judged in the second round to identify the best per category in each country. In the final round held in London, all best per category and country competed for the title of World’s Best in their category.

The five categories included World’s Best Flavoured Cider, World’s Best Non-Sparkling Cider, World’s Best Perry, World’s Best Sparkling Cider and World’s Best Speciality Cider.

Sydney Brewery took out the World’s Best Flavoured Cider Award for its Agave Ginger Cider as well as the World’s Best Perry Award for its Manly Perry.

Sydney Brewery’s Richard Feyn said the team is ecstatic at being named world’s best.

“Our brewers are passionate, the produce is outstanding, and the flavours and freshness we deliver provides a unique taste of Sydney,” said Mr Feyn.

“The timing of the award couldn’t be better as Sydney Brewery has just opened its new brewery in Sydney’s Surry Hills, complementing our Hunter Valley brewery.”

“Our range of beers and ciders are designed to be reflective of this great city and with summer just around the corner, there can be no better accompaniment to a BBQ or party.”

“They are fun drinks that really deliver a high-quality, distinctive craft brew.”

Sydney Brewing also took out a Gold medal and Australia’s Best Sparkling Cider Award for its Sydney Cider.
