Lot 100 opens in the Adelaide Hills

Mismatch Brewing Co and the Adelaide Hills Distillery have opened their new production site in the Adelaide Hills.

The new space, located just 25 minutes from Adelaide, includes the new production brewery and distillery, an onsite restaurant called Lot 100 and events and function facilities.

Lot 100 sits on 84 hectares and features two natural amphitheaters holding up to 4,000 people and looking out across the property’s apple orchards.

The venue is a collaboration betweenMismatch Brewing Co and the Adelaide Hills Distillery, along with The Hills Cider Company, juice company Ashton Valley Fresh and winemaker Vinteloper, and together they describe the ventureas “juxtaposing elements of industry and agriculture”.

The property has been laid out so as to capture its natural surrounds and boasts 1,700 square metres of solar panels. With sustainability at the forefront of its design, Lot 100 has a wastewater treatment plant, which is used to harness two onsite bores. The new “state-of-the-art” closed-loop system works towards zero water wastage from production to irrigation.

Mismatch Co-Owner and Group Brand and Marketing Manager Leigh Morgan told Brews News that the treatment plant has been the biggest investment so far that the group has made.

“We want to be as sustainable as possible, all the water exiting our production facility is treated and does go back onto the land,” Morgan explained.

Mismatch Brewing was started in 2012 by founder Ewan Brewerton with the view to building a scalable production facility in the future. This was realised late last year, when the 35hL Premier Stainless brewhouse was commissioned, with the first beers brewed on the new kit in December.

Adjacent to the brewhouse is the new distillery, which was installed in June this year.

Lot 100 has 40 taps, of which 30 will pour Mismatch beers, six will pour The Hills Cider and four will pour an array of Adelaide Distillery spritz.

Adelaide Chef Tom Bubner has embraced a “paddock-to-plate” ethos for the Lot 100 restaurant, creating a rustic Italian-inspired menu from locally sourced ingredients.

Lot 100 is located at Lot 100 Chambers Road, Nairne, South Australia 5252.

Brewery openings are presented bySpark Breweries and Distilleries, the finest in-venue and production brewing systems available, with local design and support.
