Wrong Side Brewing goes Gypsy

Australian-based craft beer brand Wrong Side Brewing is expanding its reach and moving on from its birthplace of Jamieson, Victoria.

Wrong Side has outgrown its Victorian High Country home base so will be exploring other breweries and opportunities throughout Australia and beyond.

The brewery wants to bring their beer to more people in more places so is hitting the road and embracing the gypsy- brewing lifestyle.

Wrong Side Brewing’s Brew Commander Paul Hann explained that restrictions in size, operability and industry access mean the time has come to leave Jamieson.

“Jamieson has been great and served its purpose of getting the brand up and running, but Wrong Side has outgrown the small country brewery,” Paul said.

Being a gypsy brewer will free up the brand to tailor batch sizes, brewing methods and packaging to specific brews and use brew houses that suit those capacities and capabilities, according to Paul.

“I want to be a proper gypsy and move around,” he said. “So far I have secured fermenter space in Melbourne and in Brisbane, but will be seeking other locations.

“It’s a great opportunity to branch out and employ some techniques that were not feasible in the Jamieson brew house.”

Paul said Wrong Side Brewing might one day settle back into a home of its own somewhere, but at this stage there is no specific plan for that.

“This move will give us the time and resources to focus on what really matters to us, the beer and the brand – getting good beer out to the world and having fun doing it.”

Wrong Side Brewing will continue their local presence in the Victorian High Country with their range of beers still available in bottleshops and venues in and around the Mansfield Mt Buller region.

“We will also continue to bring our beer to the people at various local markets and events so keep your eyes on our social media for upcoming appearances,” Paul said.

“We are really excited about the next steps for Wrong Side Brewing and look forward to where it will take us and, most importantly, our beer!”
