Yakima Chief appoints national hops manager

Six months into its partnership with Cryer Malt, Yakima Chief Hops has announced the appointment of James Monshing to the newly-created role of Australia and New Zealand hops manager.

Reporting directly to Yakima Chief’s Vice President of Sales for North and South America, Ryan Hopkins, Monshing will also report to Yakima Chief’s grower-owners. He will be responsible for ensuring that a supply of quality hops is accessible to all brewers throughout Australia.

Monshing told Brews News that his role is to essentially work alongside Cryer Malt to connect Yakima Chief and the US hop farmers with the Australian brewing industry.

Monshing, who grew up on a hop farm in north-east Victoria, said that much of his role will be working alongside the new Cryer Malt sales managers across Australia.

Cryer has also announced the appointment of sales account manager for Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia Scott Bristow, sales account manager for New South Wales, Queensland, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory Fergus Seppanen, and hops specialist and sales account manager for Tasmania Jon Burridge.

Listen to Radio Brews News‘ Beer is a Conversation podcast with Cryer Malt’s David Cryer and Yakima Chief Hops’ Ryan Hopkins about the new distribution partnership.
