The Gold Coast chapter of national homeless services charity Orange Sky has been selected to receive profits from the upcoming Backyard Invitational Gold Coast via the Northern Rivers-based not-for-profit, the inGrained Foundation.

Following the inaugural event in Brisbane late last year, Stone & Wood’s Backyard Invitational Gold Coast invites the community alongside 22 independent breweries, distillers and providores to a day of tastings, live music and food trucks, to help raise funds for the inGrained Foundation to direct to a local charity.

Founded as a separate national not-for-profit by Stone & Wood in 2018, the inGrained Foundation works to generate and direct donations to direct to grassroots charities in the Northern Rivers and South-East Queensland.

Selected by the inGrained Foundation for its impact on the Gold Coast, Orange Sky is a national charity that provides regular shower and laundry services free-of-charge to homeless and disadvantaged people around Australia.

These services are also designed to provide opportunities for connection and conversation between these communities and Orange Sky volunteers, with 27 shower and laundry vehicles and their teams servicing 22 cities around the country.

Thanks to the profits raised at the Backyard Invitational Brisbane last year, the inGrained Foundation was able to donate $3,800 to not-for-profit community radio station 4ZZZ in Fortitude Valley.

Held at the Surfstitch Warehouse in Burleigh Waters, Stone & Wood’s Backyard Invitational Gold Coast invites over 20 independent breweries, distilleries and a local kombucha to share their products and connect with drinkers, with intimate tasting stands, industry talks and masterclasses.
