The general manager role has been filled at BrewDog’s long-awaited Brisbane venue.

Brews News has learned that Lindsay Crawford, brewmaster at 4 Pines Brewing Company, has been hired into the role.

Crawford has been with 4 Pines since 2014 as brewery manager and later brewmaster. He has also worked at Bluetongue Brewery as well as CUB and Malt Shovel.

BrewDog confirmed that the role has been filled, although the notoriously media-hungry brewers did not elaborate further.

The Scottish brewery stepped up recruitment activity for the Brisbane brewery in July, and is holding a recruitment Open Day this month.

Plans for the Brisbane venue and brewery have faced criticism this year and the project has been delayed by more than six months at this point.

BrewDog initially announced that construction was to begin in July 2018, due for completion by the end of 2018. It is now predicted to be complete later this year, though again there is no official date.

The UK brewer has also scaled back operations with no explanation, halving planned capacity from 50 to 25hL.
