On Saturday 28th September, Guide Dogs Tasmania will again be holding their ‘Dining in the Dark’ fundraising campaign at Wille Smith’s Apple Shed.
At this very special dinner, guests will have the opportunity to spend part of their meal under blindfold, experiencing what it might be like to dine without relying on their sight.
“The food was amazing, and dining in the dark was so interesting in that the importance of smell and taste was fascinating. The service and drinks were great, and there were excellent raffle prizes and silent auction items. There were dogs too! A very memorable night was had by all.” Mary Dane, 2018 Dining in the Dark guest.
The night offers a canapes, drinks, a banquet style main course, desert, raffles, a silent auction with fantastic donations made by local business, live music and Ambassador Guide Dogs ready for a pat.
The main course will be served on platters to each table, so guests can plate their own food and know what they are eating when they dine under blindfold.
All profits from the ticket sales go directly to Guide Dogs Tasmania to raise Guide, Therapy and Companion Dogs for Tasmanians living with disability.
Kristy Wright, Guide Dogs Tasmania’s Community Fundraising Coordinator, is thrilled to have the support of the Huonville community and encourages all to come and attend for a fantastic night out, and truly unique experience.
